Milton "Doc" Archer, the son of of Benjamin and Cornelia (Montgomery) Archer, was born January 9, 1933, in Gridley, Iowa. Doc passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, at the age of 82.
He received his education in the Estherville Schools, then attended Augustana College and South Dakota State University.
Doc served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On March 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sharon Fredericksen in Estherville. Doc lived and worked in Sioux Falls; Brookings; Inwood; Fredericksburg; Armstrong and Estherville coaching and teaching for 25 years. He also worked at KILR Radio and Everds Brothers Construction.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3388 and member of Northwest Iowa Coaches and Officials.
Left to cherish Doc's memory is his wife, Sharon; daughters, Terri (Ron) George; Pamela Higgins; five grandchildren; Cara George, Brian George, Brad George, Nicole Higgins, Matt Higgins; two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Gabrielle; family pets, Taylor, Princess and Coco and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Doc in death are his parents; two brothers, Floyd and Fay and six sisters, Verge, Evelyn, Lila, Zella, Norma and Fern.
